I personally like to wear natural make up so I don’t always go for full coverage. Unfortunately I have acne prone skin. My skin does great… sometimes and then my little friends decide to show themselves again! But ah well, my skin is doing sooo much better than a couple of months ago so I am not gonna complain too much hehe. Here’s an overview of all the products I use on a daily basis:

Golden Nails!

Hey lovelies!

I'm on a roll haha I've done another festive holiday inspired nail design. Since I'm cutting my nails short after New Years Eve I'm taking advantage of my nails haha! This one is more classy and elegant looking than my previous nail design. I haven't filmed a tutorial on this one, but I decided to do a blog post on it! Hope you enjoy it :)

Essence - Diamond power shield (used as base coat and top coat)
O.P.I - Get me to the Taj on time (natural nail polish color for entire base)
Orly - Coffee Break (on my tips & entire ring finger nail)
Rimmel - Grey Matter (top part of ring finger nail)
Be-Yu - Black crackling top coat #202 (two stripes on the gray nail polish on ring finger nail)

Closet ♥

After almost two years (yes two years) I decided not to postpone cleaning my closet anymore! So I started to throw everything out of my closet on the floor (I had so much fun haha) & lemme tell you.. the smile on my face disappeared when I had a look on the floor! I didn't know I had that many clothes :O?! I've had so many days that I just couldn't find anything to wear thinking I had nothing cute.... well it was probably hidden behind a pile of clothes... ~.~ I had to find a way to organize my closet so I would have a better overview of the things I got. So after sorting out my clothes I came up with this marvelous idea! At primark I found these extremely thin clothing hangers & they have saved my life... Now I can go shopping again hahaha.

Hey lovelies!

So, I recently bought some new brushes that I am soooo obsessed with! I've got a brush set from Bdellium tools & the thing that I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE is that they have green handles!! (See picture)

Gorgeous huh?! Haha. The brush set that I got is called the 5 piece Smoky Eyes Brush set. The brushes that you get are:

Hey guys!

So, Beyonce came out with her fourth album called..... '4'! Personally I think this album is kinda ok... There are some songs that I think are amazingggg like 'Run the world', 'End of time', 'Best thing I never had' & ' I was here'! Love love LOVE those songs! But the rest is....ok I guess. Maybe I need to hear the songs a couple times more... i dunno. haha

I wanted to write this blog post about a piano cover I did of one of Beyonce's new songs. The song I chose is ' I was here'! Beautiful song if you ask me! Love the meaning of the song & the way B sings it.

Sleek Cosmetics

This blog post is about Sleek Cosmetics. These are the first products I own from this brand & I'm very pleased with them so far!!! Sleek Cosmetics is very affordable & they have the most amazing palettes ever! I own the palettes 'Bohemian (which has mostly matte colors) & 'Original' (in this palette only the black color is matte). The blush I have is called 'Rose Gold' It's this pretty pinky color with gold shimmer. This blush gives a very subtle pink color & the gold is not so present as I expected haha. These colors are so beautiful & they are highly pigmented! See pictures below :)

Strawberry Lips

New Piano Cover!

Hi guys!

So finally I've succeeded in recording a new cover on the piano! First of all I did not know which song to cover & the piano is still a little bit off key so I can't always record a cover properly.... I don't want to hurt your ears while I play the piano ahaha...

The song I covered is 'Ghost of you' by Selena Gomez! It's a very beautiful song & I really like her latest album 'A year without rain'. I have to say 'Off the Chain' is my favorite song :)!! Actually I should be laying in bed, cause I'm still a little bit sick, but I just couldn't wait any longer to record a new song! Besides I really like this song. If I'm not playing it on the piano, I'm playing it in my head...I'm kinda addicted to it right know haha..

Accessorize in spring

Hi!

A couple of days ago my sister showed me this beautiful fashion illustration & I got inspired to draw again haha. Usually when I draw I take a picture as reference & start drawing. It's funny cause my drawings never really look like the picture I took as reference even though I really try sometimes haha. But that's okay, it's more important to make drawings your own right :)? Well... this drawing surprisingly looks a lot like the reference! I don't really mind that because I simply LOVE it! Normally I just leave my drawings black & white, but I have a sister who illustrates using watercolors & I simply LOVE how her illustrations turn out & that made me wanna try it. First I sketched the drawing & then I outlined it with a black marker. These steps were super easy, but when I had to start coloring my mind went blank ahaha. I knew which colors I wanted to use , but let me tell you it's not easy to work with watercolors! You really have to be patient cause you have to work with different layers to get more depth & you need to mix different colors to get the right color... Well... I'm not patient & I don't really know which colors I have to mix to get the color I have in mind... so I asked my sister for help quite a few times haha

Below you can see how I came to the final drawing.

I decided to use these colors because I can't wait for spring to come hahaha. I really like how it turned out & I never knew my drawing could look like this!!! I really want to experiment more with watercolors, but first I have to become more patient ha ha ha.

Sleek New Skin Revive Foundation

So, the other day I was surfing on the internet & I came across the foundation by Sleek. I've never owned anything by that brand, cause I thought it was only sold in the UK... Well, I found this site from the Netherlands that sells Sleek products & I was so curious to try something. I am always very hesitant by buying a new foundation since you never really know how your skin will react on it & it's very difficult to choose the right color.. especially online! I saw that Sleek was having these 'New Skin Revive' tester kits & I couldn't be more happy haha. They come in three different shades: Light, Medium/dark & Dark. I bought the lightest tester kit.

The lightest tester kit comes with these six colors:

Shell 627
Sand 623
Calico 641
Bamboo 624
Latte 640

If you are looking for a foundation that gives good coverage I would not recommend this one. The coverage of this foundation is light/medium. It does have a very natural finish. This foundation is best to use when applied with a brush, cause its consistency is not very creamy. Below you can see the swatches:

I really like that Sleek made these starters kits, especially when you don't really know what color your would need. If you were wondering, I have to mix sand and bamboo to get the right color for my skin haha. There is a lot of product in these testers, especially for the price! It's only €1,99 for six different colors. Very inexpensive I would say!

Nyx Cream Blush

Hi y'all!

I have been wanting to try out a cream blush for such a long time! I had my eye on the Mac cream blush in the color posey. But knowing that there are a lot of different cream blushes out there I did not want to spend a lot of money on just one blush. Sooo, I decided to look for a cheaper one. I came across the cream blushes of NYX Cosmetics. They have a wide range of colors you can choose from & they are really inexpensive, so I really wanted to try them out! I have been using these cream blushes for a while now and I'm loving them! Below you can see the colors I bought:

The first color 'Glow' is a pretty mauvy rosy color. This is also my favorite one out of the four. Golden is a pretty neutral color & compliments all skin tones I think. Something that I didn't notice when I bought it, is that this blush has little glitter in it. Which is OK, but I prefer blushes without any shimmer. All the other blushes hasn't any shimmer in them. The last two blushes I bought are 'Red Cheek' and 'Hot Pink'. These two colors look very intense & sooo not wearable, but that isn't the case haha. 'Red Cheek' can give you that pretty natural red flush. I especially like this in the winter time, when it's super cold. You'll still have those pretty red cheeks. 'Hot pink' does its name justice.... it really is a hot pink haha.

The Nyx cream blushes are very creamy in texture and give you a beautiful natural looking glow. You really need the tiniest bit of product to achieve this glow. The first time when I tried it out, I put a little bit of product on my hand and that was already too much, so be careful haha. These blushes are very buildable & last all day when powdered with a loose powder on top to lock the blush in place. Below you can see the swatches:

I swatched these colors pretty thick, so you can see the color better. The swatches on the right are a little bit blended out, but this blush can be blended out until you will only see a tiny bit of color. The left picture is made with flash & the right picture without flash.

How to cut your T-shirt!

Hi there!

A couple of weeks ago I bought a T-shirt with a really cool phrase on it. I bought this shirt from the men section of the New Yorker.... yes you read it right... I sometimes shop at the men section ahahah. But I totally did not like the shape of the shirt... I decided to buy it anyways having a whole picture in mind of how I should cut it & how I would wear it. My mind started to get all sorts of ideas, so I had to buy it! So today I decided to cut my t-shirt. It's super easy and all you need is a textile scissor & of course your shirt haha!

The first thing you need to do is decide where you want to cut your shirt. I like my shirts more baggy, so I bought a bigger size then I normally would. I decided to cut it in a way that it would fit more casual and slouchy. The best thing to do is to wear your shirt and make a little slit of where you want to start cutting on both sides. Where you decide to start cutting will determine how slouchy your shirt will fall, but be careful if you cut too much your shirt will constantly fall from you shoulders and that can be a bit annoying. I also cut down from the center of the neck down to the point I desired. See picture 1 -3.

Now you will need to cut from the two slits to the center. BUT you only must cut the upper layer of your shirt. If you have done that you will get this:
The back part you will cut straight across from the points you started cutting the front part. While cutting you should pass the neck part right here:
I also cut the sleeves off and the bottom of the shirt just where the stitching were.
Now all you have to do is pull the parts slightly where you have cut & you're ready to wear your own 'designed' t-shirt haha. This is how my t-shirt turned out. I am very very pleased with it!!!!

Revlon's Matte Lipstick

Hi there!

Just the other day I got a package from Ebay in the mail! & of course it had to be the lipsticks that I ordered from Revlon! Revlon came out with their Matte collection & I wanted to have a color from there for so long and finally it was here!! I ordered two colors which are Pink About It 004 & Strawberry Suede 005. The last color is my favorite one! Below you can see the colors that I'm talking about:

These colors are pretty bright but they are very buildable, so you can also wear them very subtle. The first color is Pink About It and is a beautiful pink, with a hint of coral in it. And Strawberry Suede is just the perfect red in my opinion. I love love loveeee coral lipsticks and I have been wanting a red lipstick with hints of coral and pink for such a long time. I have never found one, until I found Revlon's Strawberry Suede! It's perfect for the summer time, but I wear it all the time haha. Below you can see the swatches:

These colors stay on for a very long time. I do recommend to use a lip pencil in slightly the same color before applying any color lipstick. This will help to last the lipstick longer.

Animal prints for fashion!

When looking to this years fashion trends for fall I see a lot of animal prints, like zebra and leopard print. Normally I am not a big fan of animal prints, but even I couldn’t resist to follow this trend! I have bought these awesome leopard print sneakers, that I can’t seem to get enough of:

But I am mostly liking the zebra print trend. From clothing to accessories, I’ve found products that I like :). Looking at my small collection of zebra printed products, I mostly like accessories!

Some people are a little bit hesitant to wear anything that has an animal print. If you are one of those people & you are really liking this trend I would say that animal printed accessories are the best option! They are very fashionable in my opinion, not so obvious, but at the same time a subtle eye catcher. You could think of scarves, earrings & wallets. My advice is not to wear all of these things at once hahaha, that would be a little bit to much:P.

The last thing that I own regarding this subject & am very proud of is a zebra printed vest (New Yorker). When I wear this vest I like to keep everything very subtle, because it is such an eye catcher! Have a look:

I paired it with a black t-shirt, dark denim jeans (both from H&M) and black ankle booties (Primark). I apologize for the bad quality of the picture, but I think you can see what I'm wearing haha :)!

So in overall I really like the animal print trend! You could make it work & it’s all about how you style and wear it :)!

Meet my sister! And my drawing style :D

Hi there,

I hope everyone is doing well ^.^. In this blog I would like to write about another hobby of mine. I don’t do it very often but whenever I have the time I really love to draw! My sister, TJ, also has her own blog. She is very into drawing and draws the cutest chibi’s ever. For the people who don’t know what chibi’s are it is the name for a specific anime drawing style. It are smaller versions (you can also call them baby versions) of the anime characters. If you are curious to see how she draws you can visit her blog here. But what I so like about her drawings is that she personalizes them, she can transform anyone into a chibi!!! She also made one for me ^.^. She just takes specific characteristics of a person and uses them in her chibi drawing. And the crazy thing is I always see who she intended to draw!! I think that they are so cute! I love her drawings ^.^ Well, I also love to draw, maybe not so much as my sister does but it is a wonderful way to spend my time with. What I think is so funny, is that my drawing style is very different than hers. I am more into the fashion style drawing; they are closer to the realistic world so to say. I thought it would be fun to show you one of my drawings. One of my previous posts was about my piano cover of Rihanna so I thought I could also make a post about a drawing I made of Rihanna haha. Don’t worry my blog is not only dedicated to everything that has to do with Rihanna hahaha. I have never taken any kind of drawing lessons besides school classes that were given. So I know that the drawing is not perfect, I am still learning :D But here you can see my drawing:

So, yeah that is my drawing of Rihanna ^.^. I did use a picture of Rihanna as a reference, but I cannot find that picture anymore. I usually don’t color my drawings, because I like the effect that a black and white drawing gives. I like to imagine the colors haha. Most of the time when I start filling the drawing in with color I don’t like the drawing anymore. It has lost some of its effect. I don’t know maybe in the future I will start using colors in my drawing but for now I like to see the pencil strokes. Well, I hope that you like this drawing and that you see the resemblance with Rihanna hahaha. Please let me know what you think about it.

Classy nails

Hi!!

Okay, I am totally obsessed with everything that has to do with nails right now!! I have never really liked spending money going to a salon… although I think if you go to one once in a while it is very good for your nails. But for now I like manicuring my nails at home :) I really like the nail polishes from O.P.I! They have such fun colors and they last for a long time. What I also really like is French manicuring my nails. I use ‘The original French manicure’ kit by Orly in the color ‘rose’. I totally love this kit. The only thing I don’t really like about this kit is that the nail polishes get really thick after a couple times of using… But besides that I totally love it, my nails stay like that for more than a week! I decided to give my nails something extra, by putting the Chanel logo on my nails. Not on all my nails, but just on my little pinky haha. It is very subtle, but yet very classy! I love it! Some people prefer putting the same logo on every nail, but I don’t really like that on myself. So below you can see a picture of the way I am rocking my nails right now hahaha

Stupid in Love

Do you guys also love the music of Rihanna?!?!? Well, I do!!! Her new album Rated R is so amazing. I just can’t stop listening to it. I mean, songs like Russian Roulette, Hard, Wait your turn, Te amo and Stupid in love are so awesome! Besides that I love the whole album I think that those songs are my favorite ones. Well, a while ago when her album just came out I heard the song ‘Stupid in love’ and I simply fell in love with it. As you all know playing the piano is one of my biggest hobbies. I got so inspired to learn this song on the piano. After hearing the song I immediately sat behind my piano and started figuring out the right notes to play. And in one evening I knew how to play Stupid in Love on the piano! Rihanna sings this song with so much emotion and the lyrics are also very beautiful. A while ago I have posted my piano cover of this song on Youtube. I have tried to play it with feeling so I hope that it is noticeable haha. It is one thing to know how to play a song and another thing to play a song with feeling. Playing with feeling makes a huge difference in the experience of playing a song and for the ones who are listening to it. So, below you can see my piano cover of the beautiful song ‘Stupid in Love’ by Rihanna. Although I have made one mistake at the end (a mistake I regret very much, but I was to lazy to record a better version haha) I hope that you like it as much as I liked playing it!

Hi everyone!

I am Ancilla also known as Fashionstylemusic on Youtube. I am just a girl who loves to play the piano and who is interested in anything related to make up, beauty, style and fashion. Up till now I have been posting piano videos on my youtube account. But in the future I would like to post make up tutorials. The camera that I use now is not really allowing me to make those kind of videos! I have never really kept a journal, a blog or anything related to that, but I thought it would be fun to start one! So here I am sitting behind my laptop and writing my very first blog!! I am planning to use this blog to write about anything that I am interested about haha. This could be related to music, make up, beauty, fashion and drawing. These are just a couple of things that come to my mind right now haha. Anyway I’m very excited to start blogging!!
